The Autism Project

The project “The Strangest Androgyn” developed out of curiosity and a desire to get to know the lives of persons who fall within the spectrum of autism. The authors began the project by looking for a space for shared creative work between non-normative and normative persons. Alongside our desire to tell our audiences about autism, it became important to pass through a shared creative process with persons who fall within the spectrum of autism. The first instalment of the project presented at the Between.Pomiędzy Festival is the beginning of a six-part narrative, a documentary collage made up of excerpts from artistic workshops for people with autism, which took place at the Kolonia Artistów in Gdańsk, and also interviews held with them and with their careers.
